Hello,
Many apologies for being so quiet, I've had sooooo much on!
Anyways today's verse inspired me no end...
Isaiah 46v11
'What I have said, that I will bring about; what I have planned, that I will do.'
Firstly - awesomeness - God WILL do what He has promised and said! Such a comforting thought! So whatever you are waiting for, hoping for, longing for, praying for, asking God to do... if He says it, He will do it! No more sadness at seeing no results. No more tears at the constant wait without seeing things happen. God WILL do what He has planned. Amazing. God's word will not come back empty but will achieve what it set out to do! (Isaiah 55v11)
Secondly, just a thought. God here is implying a wait; an inbetween stage between Him saying something and it actually coming to be. Perhaps this throws a debate over whether He did actually create the world in 6 days of 24 hours. He spoke the world in to being, but was there a process of growth and coming into existance - perhaps even with difficult times of formation, waiting and transforming? Perhaps God also recognises the whole meaning of 'process'; that things take time, that things may not happen straight away, that there is a 'process' of growth. Growth can often hurt, but it essential to full, complete existence and maturity. Yet with this in mind, we can be sure (as we have seen through creation - be it 6 days or 6 time periods of process), God will do what He set out to do and He will fulfil what He has planned!
Many blessings today
xxxxx
